GUIDE TO MEMBERS
Our excursions include plays, musicals and occasionally Shakespeare, ballet. opera or a musical spectacular. We book the tickets and arrange travel and charge a sum based on the total cost of the day out.
Booking your theatre ticket(s)
Theatre tickets are allocated on a first come, first served basis, therefore early booking is recommended. Full membership numbers – area and number- e.g. Dor-121 should be included on all correspondence and written on the back of your cheque or in the reference section of your online payment, please.
Separate cheques/online payments are required for each person booking (unless you have a joint membership) and also separate for each guest. Please do not post date cheques; they are presented to the bank approximately four weeks before the excursion date.
We aim to let you know three to four weeks before the excursion date if you have been allocated a ticket. If you need to know sooner, please contact the booking secretary.
If, due to demand, we are unable to allocate a ticket to you, your cheque will be held until after the performance (in case of last-minute cancellation and a ticket becoming available) when it will be safely destroyed. Any online bank payment made for unsuccessful tickets will be repaid to you on receipt of personal bank details. If you are allocated a ticket and have to cancel, a refund will only be given if the ticket can be resold. A £3 cancellation fee is payable for administration costs.
Allocation of seats
Allocation of seats on excursions takes time and we aim to ensure fairness for everyone. Please keep to your allocated seats as it is very important from a health and safety point of view and helps the coach monitors to know if anyone is missing.
